We are happy to announce that our latest KS project, Luxury Dungeon, is now live. Take a look by following this link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hrothgarshoard/luxury-dungeon

This tabletop grid system allows you to build your dungeon quickly and securely with interlocking tiles that won't move apart when the table is jostled. It uses a 2.5 grid system so that you can use your miniatures on sections right next to a wall. There are lots of great things going on in this project, so go take a look.

Hrothgar's Hoard is happy to announce that on June 16, 2020, we have launched our most recent Kickstarter project: Character Cards

These hardwood cards are designed to let you keep track of your spell slots and other special abilities. The are about 4.5" x 5.5", have cutout holes for various dice, and are very intuitive to use.

Choose from 7 different wood types, both domestic and exotic.

Don't miss the early bird special!

If you pledge in the first 48 hours, you not only can get a pair of these cards at a discounted price, but your order will jump to the front of the line. You'll be one of the first people to get them!

Share early, Share often.

Even if you can't pledge for this Kickstarter, please consider sharing the project with your friends. The first few hours are always important, so take a second and share.

Closing the project out
about 4 years ago – Fri, Mar 20, 2020 at 08:21:17 PM

Well, it has taken me a few months longer than I had hoped, but this KS is finally in the books.Today, I shipped out the last 3 outstanding Solutions, so all orders have been filled.

HOWEVER a few of you have had to return cases to me due to issues that cropped up. Most of these have been re-delivered, but there are a couple that I'm still working on. I have been in contact with those backers so they know what to expect.

If you are one who returned a Solution to me AND have NOT heard back from me in the past week, please drop me an email at [email protected]. I'd like to think that I"m on top of all communications, but there always seem to be one or two that I forget.

I want to thank everyone for their patience. Now that this project is in the books, I feel like I can start work on my next one. A lot of the design has already been done, but I need to finish some things off before launch.

Lastly, please allow me to do a little self promoting here. With the Corona virus sweeping the nation, I've had several conventions cancel on me which means that my business (as compared to last year) has slowed to a trickle. I don't think I'm in danger of closing up shop like some others might be, but for the first time since I've started, I'm wondering how I'm going to pay my monthly bills.

If you need some gaming accessories, please stop by my etsy page and place an order. I've been updating inventory and adding some new products (geeky flasks are hot right now), and am in need of a little help to keep things going smoothly. Please stop by here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/HrothgarsHoardGames

Almost there.....
about 4 years ago – Mon, Feb 24, 2020 at 02:24:05 PM

So, I've had a couple weeks where Murphy's Law decided to intervene. The laser went down and I needed a new power supply. Local supplier wanted $500. I checked online and found one for $150. I place an order. Get a message the next day saying that because of Corona Virus, the shipment will be delayed for 2 weeks (shipped out of China). I look around for another option, but nothing comes up, so I buckle in to wait. All the time, online orders are getting backed up. I work on finishing work and cnc work until the laser is back up.

Part comes in early. I put it in. I get shocked. I unplug the laser. I finish putting it in :-).  The power backup decides to crap out. The blower decides to crap out. Everything seems to be crapping out.

I take the blower motor cap off and it is encrusted with debris from the laser. I clean it out. Notice that one of the wires is broken on the capacitor. Splice that thing together. Plug it in. It works! Decide it is time to actually mount the blower on the wall along with the air pump. Do that. Plug everything back in. Go straight to the outlet without using the power backup. Everything still works! Yeah me!

Get back to work. Catch up on online sales. Figure out what I need to finish off this project. Ship most of the outstanding orders. Down to 4! Should have everything completed soon!

If you read all those sentence fragments, congrats. If you skipped to the end to see if I actually have anything worthwhile to say, give yourself inspiration.

So, here is where I"m at. I have 4 orders to fulfill. I've been in contact with most of those people (I think). If you haven't received yours and haven't heard from me either with an eta, feel free to send me an email at [email protected] and I"ll let you know what to expect.

If you had a problem with your Solution and are waiting for a response from me, rest assured that I haven't forgotten you, I just wanted to focus on outstanding orders before circling back. I'll tackle those this week.

I'm about to hit the convention circuit. I'll be in Raleigh for Playthrough in a couple weeks and then Gary Con in WI the week after that. I'm returning to Indiana Comic Con this year after a couple years off. I have a few others on the schedule (Origins, Gen Con), but am always looking for new cons. If you know of one, let me know.

Thanks for reading my rambling. Gotta go play some D&D now.

Another brief update.
about 4 years ago – Fri, Jan 31, 2020 at 11:55:49 AM

Well, these last dozen or so Solutions are taking longer than I had hoped. The official number is down to 6. There are two additional Solutions that are in limbo because the survey hasn't been finished. If you haven't finished your survey, please do so now. There will come a point where I will just shut the whole project down.

I've been in contact with a few of you about your rewards. At this point, I'm either waiting for some wood (scheduled to come in on the 10th).  I have one or two where I don't have the requested mouse pad; I've contacted Charles for more, but it may be until Gary Con when I can get them from him.  I have a zebrawood Solution almost finished. I'm just waiting for the tower to dry and it should be good to go. The last two are carvings. I did one of the carvings and then let it acclimate to house humidity and it warped a little, so I'm redoing it. Another one is out of wood that won't be in until the 10th.

So, that is pretty much where I'm at with the project. Sorry for the delay on these last ones. Worst case is that I can get everything out after Gary Con. I'll keep getting out what I can as I get them done.

Thanks to everyone and keep an eye out for my next project. Don't know when it'll be yet. It might launch before this one is officially finished, but only if I'm just waiting for one or two things to come in. I don't like launching a new project before the other is closed up.

John
